About the Program:
Is this a classroom program or private tutoring?

All Integrated Learning lessons are private. Group discounts do apply, however, so if you and some friends are taking the same test, let us know and we will work out a solution.

How does Integrated Learning differ from other companies?

Most companies develop materials, find people to read the material to you, and pass that off as teaching. Integrated Learning tutors are all professional teachers who have been teaching the SAT for at least two years. This is our advantage - we leverage the experience and expertise of people intimately involved in the process and then give them a boost with our unique insights and methodology.

How does Integrated Learning know what my needs are?

Every student takes a diagnostic test. From there we analyze your strengths and weaknesses. Since your tutor is an experienced teacher, he or she will be analyzing you from the first meeting, learning about you and applying the best approach to fit your needs.

Who are the tutors? What are their qualifications?

Integrated Learning tutors are all experts in the SAT who have personally scored 99th percentile. Each one has been tutoring standardized tests for over 2 years, and most have been teaching for much longer than that. Our tutors have all worked with multitudes of students, both in class and privately, and they are all professional test preparation instructors. Finally, all are post-college adults, and most have a Masters degree.

What kind of support will I have throughout this process?

We offer free and unlimited phone and email support. This means you have access to your tutor throughout the course of your lessons, as much as you need, free of charge. You only pay for the time with your tutor. We are with you from the beginning and want to ensure that you have all the tools necessary to excel on your test.

Do I have to buy a block of hours now?

No. Integrated Learning has a "Pay-As-You-Go" policy, and we're proud of it. If you opt for that, we keep your credit card on file and charge you for each individual hour you use. See our packages page for more detail.

How much work will I have to put in?

If you're studying for a test and you want to do well, you need to dedicate at least an hour a day to studying. Preferably, you'll put in two. This is not an average. You need constant and consistent exposure to the materials to do well, not a once-a-week approach.

How long before my test should I start studying?

We believe that a minimum of 2 months is necessary to properly prepare for a standardized test. In some cases, 3 or 4 months may be necessary, depending on the individual.

Does Integrated Learning guarantee my success?

No. A test prep guarantee is nothing more than a marketing gimmick, so read the fine print of the other companies. The truth is, only you can guarantee your success. We'll provide the tools, and they're the best tools in the industry, and the guidance, with the best teachers you can find. Ultimately, your success lies with you, with the amount of work you do.

About the Lessons:
Where does the tutoring take place?

You and your tutor will arrange a convenient location for your tutoring. Typically, tutors will come to your home, but tutoring is also done at a local library, university, coffee shop, or at the tutor's home.

How many lessons will I need?

That depends on you and your needs and the time you have till test date. If you would like one of our experienced client representatives to evaluate you, please contact us at 888-I-TUTOR-U. See our Packages page for information on lessons.

How often do I meet my tutor(s)?

This also depends on your test and your deadlines. Our students usually meet with their tutors once a week, but that number can triple depending on each individual's situation.

How long are the lessons?

Lessons are two hours each. You may want more time than that, particularly if you're cramming. Schedule permitting, we'll be happy to accommodate you.

What materials do I need to purchase?

Your tutor will inform you of the right materials to acquire. You will be using a combination of real exams published by the College Board, as well as other texts. You will be best prepared by practicing off of real, former exams.

Can I learn with a friend?

Definitely. If you and a friend, or even several friends, would like to organize group sessions, we'll be happy to accommodate. Please be aware that two people may be great friends, but on vastly different pages when it comes to these tests. Sometimes, group sessions turn out worse for everyone. Please contact us for information on pricing.

About the Applications:
How much time should I allow for the whole application process?

The best way to approach applications is to finish your SAT before you begin the application. The applications are long and require a lot of attention, so you should deal with them without test prep on your mind. Therefore, budget about 2-3 months for test prep, and then another 1-2 months for the applications themselves.

Can Integrated Learning help me with my applications?

Absolutely. As part of our inclusive program, Integrated Learning has partnered with expert admissions consultants to provide free tips on the application process. To learn more about it, simply ask your tutor.

How do the schools look at more than one score?

SAT students should aim to take the test just once, though we have seen many schools ignore multiple test scores in favor of the highest one. In reality it's very much a matter of school policy. Every school has its own admissions policy, so you should contact your school and ask the admissions department.
